“Yemeni Man”

Location: Saudi Arabia
When people think of Saudi Arabia, they associate the country with wealth. However, somehow that becomes translated into a country that is mostly developed and there is equitable access to healthcare. Equitable access to healthcare may be true for the citizens of Saudi Arabia, but may not be necessarily true for the thousands of migrant workers nor for the Yemenese who leave Yemen in search for a job. This picture shows a 20-year-old Yemeni man who is employed to take care of his employer’s camels. His employer now lives in the city and only comes to visit the farm on the weekends. There is no running water and potable water has to be brought in by tanks. This picture was taken several miles outside of Riyadh.
